Kate Henshaw sympathizes with Nigerians after market experience

Kate Henshaw said she went to the market to buy yams and budgeted N1500 for a tuber, only to pay N2000 after a long negotiation.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has expressed concern over the rising cost of living and rising food prices in Nigeria.

The talented movie star took to social media to recount her recent experience in the market.

According to Kate Henshaw, she had gone to the market to buy a yam tuber and budgeted N1500, she however ended up paying N2000 for the yam after a long negotiation.

She then expressed her concern by asking how Nigerians were coping with the rising cost of food and other basic needs.

She wrote on her Instagram page, “One yam tuber 3000 naira. I priced 1500, whosai and the seller left.. na old yam oo.

“I ended up paying 2000 naira. 2K wey I think say I will buy yams and potatoes with it. How do people manage? Hummm oòohhhh.

The online community then joined the conversation in their comments section, while some lamented the speed at which food prices are increasing in the market, others have simply concluded that yam is no longer for the masses.
