PHILADELPHIA CREAM, July 30, 2019 / PRNewswire / – Philadelphia Fashion District, (“The District”), a joint venture partnership between PREIT and Macerich, announces that Wonderspaces, a unique and unprecedented immersive artistic experience in the region, as well as two dozen new tenants will join the dynamic list of tenants when the project launches in September. Wonderspaces reinforces the property’s diverse mix of entertainment and art, and will complement the project’s dynamic mix of tenants and community programming in the areas of style, dining, entertainment, arts and culture.
Wonderspaces partners with artists from around the world to present art exhibitions that anyone can enjoy as a place to connect with friends and family. After having received more than two hundred and fifty thousand visitors during its previous exhibitions in San Diego and Scottsdale, Wonderspaces will open its first Philadelphia cream spectacle, Point of view in December 2019. âOur new home in The District marks our first permanent location in the center of a metropolitan area,â said Jason shin, co-founder and president of Wonderspaces. âWe believe that bringing art to non-traditional places is a key element in inviting new audiences. The addition of Wonderspaces builds on the existing Fashion District $ 1 million in works of art commissioned in partnership with the Percent for Art project of the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority. The works of art can be found in nine exhibition venues across the district, showcasing masterpieces by local and international artists from all disciplines. The diverse collection of artwork will range from large-scale 2D and 3D sculptures, graphic drawings and photographs, to several contemporary murals.
The District will offer a range of unique and dynamic concepts for shopping, eating, socializing and playing. Previously announced tenants include City vineyard, a culinary and cultural wine experience offering refined cuisine, courses, concerts and private events; an entertainment area on the third floor which includes AMC Theaters and Round 1; Eat from the market, a take-out market accessible to SEPTAs Jefferson Station; and several in-demand retail brands including Nike, H&M, Samsonite, Sunglass Hut, Colombia, Levi’s, ULTA Beauty, and others – join Burlington and Century 21 department store.
